Boutique Weddings

Elopements, Minimony, and Micro Weddings... what does all this mean?

Even before all the recent changes to gathering restrictions, my heart belonged to smaller and more intimate weddings + events. Today? These are more popular than ever, and people are loving them! So... what exactly is a Boutique Wedding, Elopement, Minimony, and a Micro Wedding? And how are they different?

Boutique Wedding

We consider boutique weddings to be our specialty. Boutique Weddings are perfect for guest counts of 75 or less. They can take place at your favorite restaurant, a boutique hotel, or a private estate... really anywhere that will provide you an intimate atmosphere, style is elevated, and details are personalized. It’s a more cozy setting and you are able to enjoy quality interaction with guests you hold closest to you.

Elopement

According to Bride Magazine, an elopement is a marriage conducted without the knowledge of the couple’s family and friends, particularly their parents. Typically, those who elope only have a ceremony and do not host a reception or celebration.

Basically… it’s just the two of you, your officiant and your photographer… plus some flowers. We have been lucky to share in a few elopements and have been truly touched by how sweet and personal the moment feels.

Minimony

A minimony is a mini ceremony held with your loved ones, or simply a moment of commitment shared between yourselves. The Knot

The Minimony is a ceremony where you and ten to twenty of your closest friends and family come together to witness your exchange of vows. This may also include a simple toast at the end (and cake if you're like me). Add in your officiant, your photographer, a ceremony location... and you're wed!

Micro Wedding

This is an option many couples were choosing even before 2020. A micro wedding will feel very much like a destination wedding. Micro weddings include no more than 50 guests and all your standard wedding touchpoints. A Ceremony, dinner, and intimate reception. For a how-to, check out this article we found.
